Alex Kerr’s first book, was published in 1996 by Lonely Planet’s “Journeys” series. The book was later picked up by Penguin, in which it added a subtitle: Last Glimpses of Beautiful Japan, in 2015. Originally published in Japanese, the book won the 1994 Shincho Gakugei Literature Prize.
